YWCA Aquatics
The YWCA Pool is the only indoor pool in Adams County that offers memberships to the public. The YWCA also offers swimming lessons, lifeguard training, water fitness classes, masters swimming, an age group swim team, and recreational and lap swimming. There is something for everyone!
Everyone must shower thoroughly before using the whirlpool!

WHIRLPOOL RULES
1. Always shower thoroughly before entering the whirlpool to remove sweat, lotion, and perfume!
2. The use of cell phones while in the whirlpool is strictly prohibited!
3. All users must limit their time in the whirlpool to 15 minutes per day.
Swim at the YWCA
Since 1981, the YWCA of Gettysburg and Adams County has proudly served the swimmers of our community. Our YWCA Natatorium includes a 25-meter swimming pool, a swimsuit dryer, handicap pool chair lift, and an ADA-accessible locker room.
The YWCA offers swimming programs that teach water safety skills and give kids and adults the chance to explore the many health benefits of swimming. For beginners and veteran exercisers alike, swimming can be a great way to boost your fitness level and reduce stress.
We provide a variety of programs for people of all ages and abilities, including swimming lessons for youth between the ages of 6 months and 14 years, adult swimming lessons, group water fitness classes, lap and recreation swimming, Masters swimming, and the Sharks Age Group Swim Team. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are committed to the highest level of excellence in all of our programs.
Slow, Low Intensity with Linda
Monday and Friday
9:30-10:15 a.m
This is a low-impact and slow-moving workout that involves water walking, slow jogging, stretches, and basic strengthening with lots of individual attention. The goal is better balance, a stronger core, and improved agility. A water bottle and water shoes are recommended.
Cardio Splash with Linda
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10:30 am – 11:30 am
A low-impact but high-intensity water fitness class where no swimming skills are needed. This class uses the resistance of the water plus a variety of resistance equipment to improve flexibility, range of motion, strength, muscle tone, and cardiovascular endurance. A water bottle and water shoes are recommended.
Core Zone with Linda
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 11:30 am – 12 pm
This shallow water class focuses on cardio, complete body strengthening, core toning, and balance. Light jumping and leaping are included. A water bottle and water shoes are recommended.
Aqua Core with Linda
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 am – 9:30 am
This low-impact class takes place in shallow water and includes water walking, jogging, and running, along with resistance equipment exercises to improve joint stability, flexibility, coordination, heart health, and strength. A water bottle and water shoes are recommended.
Deep Water Power with Linda
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:40 am – 10:40 am
A high-power workout utilizing deep water running techniques, interval training, and resistance equipment. Participants must be able to maintain a vertical position with a floatation belt in deep water. A water bottle and water shoes are recommended.
Liquid Assets with Kellie
Saturdays, 9 am – 10 am
Increase muscle definition, burn calories, and improve flexibility. Leave feeling refreshed, stretched, and energized. This class takes place in water that is chest deep and deeper. Participants must be comfortable in deep water.
Liquid Fit with Kellie
Wednesdays, 4:15 pm – 5:15 pm
This class is full of fun and energizing activities designed to help you reach your fitness goals! This class takes place in water that is chest deep and deeper. Participants must be comfortable in deep water.
F.I.T. Swimming - Fitness Interval Training with Beth
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:15 pm – 5:30 pm
F.I.T. Swimming is a lap swimming workout group for anyone 18 years and older! Workouts are made appropriate for all ability levels and speeds. Participants must be able to swim 25 meters on their front and back. (25 meters = one length of the pool) Interval training is the best way to improve your swimming endurance. F.I.T. Swimming is a very welcoming group of adults who enjoy swimming for fitness. There will be a coach on deck during practice times who will assist you in reaching your swimming goals. Some members of our group who wish to compete belong to our YWCA Masters Swim Team, but this is not required !
Pool Rentals
Three lanes of our 25-meter indoor pool are available for any member to rent.
- All groups larger than ten people must make prior arrangements to rent the pool.
- We can only accommodate groups of up to a maximum of 20 people.
Shared Pool Rental
Flat Rental Fee: $150/ for up to 2 Hours
Shared rentals are only allowed during open swim times, in which half the pool is available and shared with our members. This rental option is for groups with 10 – 20 people.
