Human Resources Manager

The YWCA is looking for a Human Resources Manager. A strong foundational knowledge of human resources is essential. This includes payroll, benefits administration, progressive discipline, unemployment, worker’s compensation, policy writing, clear communication through writing and email, etc. Pay between $37,000 and 40,000 based on experience.

The Human Resources Manager works Monday through Friday, but is always available to be reached in case of an emergency. 8 hour days are typical, with occasional longer days. You will work directly with the Finance Director and Executive Director.

Benefits include a very generous PTO package starting at 4 weeks of per year. Staff are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and PTO on the first of the month following 60 days. Retirement account enrollment is automatic after 2 years of employment.

Human Resources Manager Job Description

Director of Finance and Operations

The Senior Director of Finance and Operations is responsible for directing and managing the facilities, fund development, marketing, technology and human resources functions of the YWCA Gettysburg. The position is full time and pay between $50,000 and $60,000 per year and is salaried exempt. The Senior Director of Finance and Operations will work closely with all departments to ensure that the appropriate financial information is available to departments as needed, as well as offer suggestions and analyses of different financial situations within the YWCA. The ideal candidate is patient, highly communicative, has an eye for detail and can think outside of the box. Job experience in the finance field is essential.

Fitness Instructors

The YWCA Gettysburg is looking for fitness instructors to teach our members! Potential classes include Zumba, Body Pump, HIIT, Yoga, dance, etc. If you or anyone you know is interested in teaching a class, now is a great time to start! Pay starts a $15/hour and the hours are flexible. Instructors who are consistent will excel and draw a large class with dedicated attendees.

Personal Trainer

The YWCA Gettysburg is looking for personal trainers! There is a 50% split of commission, with gross earnings around $25 per hour. The YWCA has a wide range of clients who appreciate consistency with their trainers. Personal trainers who are consistent and patient will be an excellent fit for the position. CPR required. Personal training license preferred. Flexible hours!

Group Supervisor Childcare

Group Supervisor (GS)– Full Time Floater: 9:00am – 6:00 pm, M-F

Group Supervisor (GS)– Full Time Split Shift Floater: 6:30am-9:00am and 12:30pm – 6:00pm M-F,

The YWCA Gettysburg Center is looking for a qualified full time candidate to provide high-quality childcare to the children. The position will also occasionally go to the YWCA Gettysburg Commerce Childcare Center.

A degree is preferred but not required. Must be able to communicate in a clear and positive manner. Will be responsible to assist and lead educational and fun activities each day, remaining highly interactive with the children at all times.

Full-Time Maintenance Position

Must have experience with commercial building maintenance a must.

PT Night shift Custodian Position

20 hours plus

Wages $ 9.40 – $12.00 depending on experience in commercial cleaning, will train the right candidates.

Lifeguard – Part Time

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, ensures the safety of patrons of the aquatics facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. The Lifeguard will monitor water conditions and guest behavior, enforcing safety rules and paying close attention to swimmer activities and behavior. Lifeguards are also responsible for monitoring the facility for potential hazards or unsafe conditions, providing first aid to patrons, custodial duties in maintaining the facility, public relations, and all other duties as necessary or required.

Swim Instructor – Part Time

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, provides swim lessons, private or group to all ages, levels and abilities based on American Red Cross standards and program requirements.

Water Fitness Instructor – Part Time

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Water Fitness Instructor is responsible for conducting regularly scheduled water fitness classes. The Water Fitness Instructor will ensure the safety of participants at all times by communicating the risk of any fitness program to participants and preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. The Water Fitness Instructor will also perform other duties as necessary or required.

Assistant Swim Coach – Part Time

The Sharks Assistant Swim Coach will be responsible for assisting with running the daily operations of the Sharks swim program and will report directly to the Sharks Head Swim Coach and Aquatics Director. The position requires that the assistant coaches’ attend swim meets as requested, along with other activities and swim team functions upon the request of the Head Coach. The Sharks Assistant Coach will drive team growth and strive to retain existing swimmers while working under the guidelines of the YWCA mission statement and any other stated objectives

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma
  • American Red Cross Safety Training for Coaches and/or Lifeguard Certification, including CPR, first aid, and AED preferred
  • Ability to motivate athletes in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated proficiency in teaching stroke development, stroke correction, and proper technique
  • Excellent writing, listening, and verbal communications skills

Fitness Attendants

Maintain relationships with members. The role of a fitness attendant is to be seen and available in the fitness area interacting with gym members. A fitness attendant is responsible for greeting members and maintaining a healthy, positive relationship with them so that members become connected and feel part of the YWCA family. The attendant is expected to be able to answer member questions about fitness, health, safety, and equipment usage. Attendant will also be required to abide as well as enforce the rule of this facility.

The YWCA Gettysburg & Adams County is pleased to announce a new Employee Scholarship Program for our staff.

The scholarship funds totaling $2,500 are made possible through the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust and are available to pay up to $415 per award toward various trainings required for childcare staff and aquatics- and land-fitness instructors, as well as career development opportunities for personnel.

The YWCA will accept applications monthly beginning January 11 through June 30, 2021. If interested applying, complete the short application form attached and submit to your supervisor for approval and referral to the review committee. In doing so, it should be noted how attending the specific course is pertinent to your position and how it will be benefit you and the YWCA.

The review committee will meet on the third Wednesday of every month and award notifications will be made promptly.

Additionally, the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust awarded an additional $2,500 to cover the cost of clearances for new hires. These funds will be administered by the HR Generalist and will appear in the new hire’s first pay check.
