Group Supervisor Childcare

Group Supervisor (GS)– Full Time Floater: 9:00am – 6:00 pm, M-F

Group Supervisor (GS)– Full Time Split Shift Floater: 6:30am-9:00am and 12:30pm – 6:00pm M-F,

The YWCA Gettysburg Center is looking for a qualified full time candidate to provide high-quality childcare to the children. The position will also occasionally go to the YWCA Gettysburg Commerce Childcare Center.

A degree is preferred but not required. Must be able to communicate in a clear and positive manner. Will be responsible to assist and lead educational and fun activities each day, remaining highly interactive with the children at all times.

Full-Time Maintenance Position

Must have experience with commercial building maintenance a must.

PT Night shift Custodian Position

PT Night shift Lead Custodian Position

20 hours plus

Wages $ 9.40 – $12.00 depending on experience in commercial cleaning, will train the right candidates.

Monday thru Friday 9pm – 1am

Weekends  7pm – 9pm

Assistant Aquatics Director – Full Time

The Assistant Aquatics Director will work cohesively with the Aquatics Director to assist with facility operations, program operations, facility maintenance, administrative task, staff trainings and all other duties as necessary
or required. Ensures the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergences. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with the YWCA’s mission,
policies, and procedures.

Assistant Aquatics Director Job Description

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Completion of American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED Training
  • Must be willing to obtain a national pool operator certification within 8 months of employment
  • One (1) year of experience teaching swimming lessons preferred but not required
  • One (1) year of relevant experience in the aquatics field preferred but not required
  • Maintain physical requirements that meet the American Red Cross Lifeguard standards
  • Excellent writing, listening and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies
  • Must have flexibility with schedule.
  • Must be willing to work Saturday mornings/afternoons for swim lesson programs.

Lifeguard – Part Time

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, ensures the safety of patrons of the aquatics facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. The Lifeguard will monitor water conditions and guest behavior, enforcing safety rules and paying close attention to swimmer activities and behavior. Lifeguards are also responsible for monitoring the facility for potential hazards or unsafe conditions, providing first aid to patrons, custodial duties in maintaining the facility, public relations, and all other duties as necessary or required.

Swim Instructor – Part Time

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, provides swim lessons, private or group to all ages, levels and abilities based on American Red Cross standards and program requirements.

Water Fitness Instructor – Part Time

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Water Fitness Instructor is responsible for conducting regularly scheduled water fitness classes. The Water Fitness Instructor will ensure the safety of participants at all times by communicating the risk of any fitness program to participants and preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. The Water Fitness Instructor will also perform other duties as necessary or required.

Assistant Swim Coach – Part Time

The Sharks Assistant Swim Coach will be responsible for assisting with running the daily operations of the Sharks swim program and will report directly to the Sharks Head Swim Coach and Aquatics Director. The position requires that the assistant coaches’ attend swim meets as requested, along with other activities and swim team functions upon the request of the Head Coach. The Sharks Assistant Coach will drive team growth and strive to retain existing swimmers while working under the guidelines of the YWCA mission statement and any other stated objectives

  • American Red Cross Safety Training for Coaches and/or Lifeguard Certification, including CPR, first aid, and AED preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency in teaching stroke development, stroke correction, and proper technique

Childcare Group Supervisor

Full Time 9:00am – 6:00 pm, M-F

The YWCA Gettysburg Commerce Center is looking for 2 qualified full time candidates to provide high-quality childcare to the toddler children.* A degree preferred*. There will be a bonus of 8 hours of PTO give to new full time childcare staff after 8/28/20. The PTO can be used in the introductory period.

Staff must be able to communicate in a clear and positive manner. Will be responsible to assist and lead educational and fun activities each day, remaining highly interactive with the children at all times. Will be responsible to create a good working relationship with parents for the purpose of having consistent communication and best serving their children. Will be required to provide consistent supervision with a focus on safety for the children at all times. Minimum of a degree that pertains to childcare. Candidates must have 2500 (2 years) documented hours of working with children. Must be willing and able to acquire favorable child abuse, criminal background, and FBI clearances, and first aid certification.

Intermediate Yoga Instructor

The YWCA is looking for a Intermediate Yoga Instructor

PRE-REQUISITES:

  • Must have Yoga instructor certification.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  • Child Abuse, criminal background check, FBI clearances.
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to create and monitor safe and effective exercise programs for individuals, as well as recognize a member’s potential and limitations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers, and supervisor.

Yoga teachers have a rec pass included with their employment.

Morning Body Sculpting/Weight Training Instructor

The YWCA is looking for a Body Sculpting/Weight Training instructor to to create a class for our members. Applicants must have an upbeat attitude in order to provide a good experience for our members. Hours are Monday 10:30-11:30am and Wednesday 9:30-10:30 am. Pay based on experience starting at $9.40. Employees get a rec pass included

 

Indoor Cycling Instructor – Part Time

The YWCA is looking for an indoor cycling instructor to lead our cycling class. Applicants must have an upbeat attitude in order to provide a good experience for our members. Must be able to coach class members on cycling and create workouts for the class. Hours are flexible.

Pay based on experience.

The YWCA Gettysburg & Adams County is pleased to announce a new Employee Scholarship Program for our staff.

The scholarship funds totaling $2,500 are made possible through the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust and are available to pay up to $415 per award toward various trainings required for childcare staff and aquatics- and land-fitness instructors, as well as career development opportunities for personnel.

The YWCA will accept applications monthly beginning January 11 through June 30, 2021. If interested applying, complete the short application form attached and submit to your supervisor for approval and referral to the review committee. In doing so, it should be noted how attending the specific course is pertinent to your position and how it will be benefit you and the YWCA.

The review committee will meet on the third Wednesday of every month and award notifications will be made promptly.

Additionally, the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust awarded an additional $2,500 to cover the cost of clearances for new hires. These funds will be administered by the HR Generalist and will appear in the new hire’s first pay check.
