Critical Race Theory 101

On September 11 at 10 AM – 11:30 AM via Zoom, Dr. Jennifer Bloomquist, Professor of Linguistics and Africana Studies and Associate Provost for Faculty Development and the Dean of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Programs at Gettysburg College, will present CRT 101: What Critical Race Theory Is and What it Isn’t.

This will be an informal talk that will provide a general overview of Critical Race Theory and consider the current controversy over teaching CRT in public schools, followed by a question and answer session. In particular, she will discuss the basic tenets of the theory and will also outline CRT’s 40-year history and evolution.
