A Peace Corps Experience in Mongolia

Darcy Maier has lived in Adams County since 1991, working as a Medical Social Worker in Home Health and Hospice for most of her career. Raised in the Washington, D.C. area, she studied at the University of Maryland and then got a Masters in Social Work at Portland State University, Portland, OR, in 1985. At the age of 64, Darcy decided to join the Peace Corps and is now serving as a volunteer English Teacher in a public school in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Her time over the last year has been the experience of a lifetime, and she looks forward to sharing some of her stories and lessons with you. She traveled to Mongolia in October 2022 and, after a brief visit back home, will return to Mongolia to continue her service until January 2035.
