Meet Katie, Our Family Health Coordinator

Hello, my name is Katie Myers and I am excited to announce that I am the Family Health Coordinator for the 909 and ACC Child Enrichment Programs at the YWCA Gettysburg and Adams County.  As Family Health Coordinator, my role will have many facets; being the organizational aspect of the medical files (which includes IEP’s, 504’s, and Special Care Plans) and immunizations/vaccines but also helping staff and families develop the best care and nutrition possible for your children, and other aspects as needed.

A little background on me.  I grew up in Fairfield and attended Gettysburg College with a major in Music.  Upon graduation, I accepted a job as a music teacher in 2 private schools in New Oxford and Hanover.  I was also the Show Choir Director and Musical Director at Fairfield High School.  After getting married, I decided to be a substitute teacher so I could spend time with my daughter.  When she began school, I accepted a full-time position in Frederick County Schools with their Special Education Program, where I stayed for 8 years until accepting this position at the YWCA.

Kids have always been a part of my life and I have tried to help foster/guide them to become outstanding leaders in the community.  I have been blessed with the positions I have held as they taught me skills that I feel will help to be a good role model for the kids, an aide for parents/guardians, and support for the CEP team.

I look forward to working with you.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at gro.grubsyttegacwy@sreymk.
