For 2024, the YWCA is getting creative to bring back this community tradition. Gather your family and friends to make a plan to run the race virtually. Racers will download an app and use the app to show they completed a 5K route of their choosing. All participants who run/walk the 5K and submit their time through the app before the close of “race day” will receive a commemorative t-shirt. “Race Day” is June 22, 2024, but you’ll be able to run the race within a “race window” that will make it extra convenient. Do it on your own time.
Entry fee: $25/per person. Registration will open on March 22 and close on June 22. We are grateful to YWCA member and certified race director, Lisa Angstadt, for lending her expertise to coordinate the event. Run or Walk for the t-shirt, the fun, the exercise – and help offset the operating expenses of the YWCA at the same time.

Calling all T-shirt designers…ideas are needed for the (what number) anniversary of the Spirit of Gettysburg virtual 5K. The winning design will be used on the commemorative T-shirt. Please submit your design at the front desk or by emailing gro.grubsyttegacwy@pihsrebmem. Ordering 250 t-shirts with a silk-screened design cost approximately $2,000. Help reduce the YWCA’s cost of purchasing t-shirts by adding your name or business logo to the back of the T-shirt for a $250 donation. Donations can be dropped off at the YWCA Front Desk for our bookkeeper Linda Larson or made online using the QR Code below.
Be sure to include a note for Linda on the purpose of the donation.
