Health & Wellness Director

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Programs, the Health & Wellness Director is responsible for day-to-day operations that facilitate member and community wellness. The Health & Wellness Director develops, implements, and oversees wellness activities within a gymnasium, dance studio, and fitness center. In addition to program design and delivery, the Health & Wellness Director is responsible for administration, departmental budgets, risk management, and staff supervision. This position creates a safe and welcoming atmosphere in accordance with the YWCA mission, policies, and procedures.

Pre-K Counts Teacher

The YWCA Gettysburg is looking for one full-time, 40 hours per week, Pre-K Counts teacher. This position pays $16.00/hour and requires a degree in early education. Staff who are detail-oriented and like to work with children will do well in this position.

Positions do require 1+ years prior childcare experience along with the ability to pass a Pennsylvania-mandated background check and first aid certification.

Child Care Worker

The YWCA Gettysburg is looking for full-time, 40 hours per week, Childcare teachers and Assistant Teachers. These positions range in pay from $11.00 to $16.00/hour. A degree in early education is preferred but not required. Staff who are detail-oriented and like to work with children will do well in this position.

Positions do require 2+ years prior childcare experience along with the ability to pass Pennsylvania-mandated background checks and first aid certification.

The Group Supervisor provides developmentally appropriate activities utilizing the Creative Curriculum, PATHS Curriculum, Ages and Stages developmental screenings and assessment tools. Maintains and ensures direct supervision and care of the children following all DHS regulations and the Pennsylvania Keys STARS standards.

Certified Lifeguard

Do you have the desire to improve lives through exercise? Join a team where you grow and learn while having a fun! The YWCA is currently looking for energetic and driven individuals who want to make a difference.

  • Lifeguards monitor pool activities and ensure member safety.
  • Lifeguards need to possess knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures.
  • To help prevent incidents, lifeguards must enforce all safety guidelines as outlined by the YWCA.
  • To ensure safety, lifeguards must remain alert throughout an entire shift.
  • Additional job duties a lifeguard performs include preparing activity and incident reports and performing pool maintenance.

Swim Instructor (Part-Time)

Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director, provides swim lessons, private or group to all ages, levels, and abilities based on the YWCA Gettysburg standards and guidelines.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 15 years of age
  • Must be willing to be trained to teach using the YWCA Gettysburg curriculum.
  • Excellent writing, listening, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge and application of teaching swimming and water safety skills

Pay starts at $10.05/per hour, depending on experience.

Water Fitness Instructor (Part-Time)

Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director, the Water Fitness Instructor is responsible for conducting regularly scheduled water fitness classes. The Water Fitness Instructor will ensure the safety of participants at all times by communicating the risk of any fitness program to participants and preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. The Water Fitness Instructor will also perform other duties as necessary or required.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience leading or participating in water fitness programs for a minimum of 1 year
  • Water Fitness Instructor certification is preferred but not necessary
  • Must be certified or willing to become certified in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, & AED for the Professional Rescuer
  • Excellent writing, listening, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds

Pay starts at $10.05/per hour, depending on experience.
