Child Care Nutritionist/Support Staff

The YWCA Gettysburg and Adams County is now accepting applications for a nutritionist/support staff position. Full time 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday 7:15 am to 4:15 pm with a one-hour lunch break. Salary is based on experience $9.40 up to $12.00 per hour. The Nutrition / Support Staff will assist the Nutrition Specialist with the Child Care Center food service operations in full compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, rules, and licensing of the federal, state, and local authorities. Group Supervisor Childcare

Group Supervisor (GS)– Full-Time Floater: 8:30 – 5:30 pm, M-F

The YWCA Gettysburg Center is looking for full-time qualified candidates to provide high-quality childcare to the children. 

A degree is preferred but not required. Must be able to communicate in a clear and positive manner. Will be responsible to assist and lead educational and fun activities each day, remaining highly interactive with the children at all times.

Family Health Coordinator

The YWCA Gettysburg and Adams County is now accepting applications for a Family Health Coordinator. This is a Full-Time position (40 hours per week) Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. The time will be split between both the YWCA Childcare at Adams Commerce Center located at 50 Expedition Trail and the Gettysburg YWCA Daycare located at 909 Fairfield Rd.

The Family Health Coordinator will support the CEP Directors with maintaining all child files to track all health and safety regulations for DHS (Department of Human Services) and the PA Keystone Stars. Candidates must have excellent communication skills as they will be working closely with the families to create special care plans for all special needs and tracking health records and vaccines. Organizational skills are a must as this position will be scheduling vision, dental and hearing screenings for each center as well as quarterly parent workshops/meetings.

This position will also be utilized as support staff to assist in classrooms to cover ratios as needed. Night Shift Lead Custodian Position (Part-Time)

20 hours plus

Wages $9.40 – $12.00 depending on experience in commercial cleaning; will train the right candidates.

Monday thru Friday 9pm – 1am

Weekends 7pm – 9pm

Lifeguard (Part-Time)

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, ensures the safety of patrons of the aquatics facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. The Lifeguard will monitor water conditions and guest behavior, enforcing safety rules and paying close attention to swimmer activities and behavior. Lifeguards are also responsible for monitoring the facility for potential hazards or unsafe conditions, providing first aid to patrons, custodial duties in maintaining the facility, public relations, and all other duties as necessary or required.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 15 years of age
  • Completion of American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED Training
  • Maintain physical requirements that meet the American Red Cross Lifeguard standards
  • Excellent writing, listening and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies

Pay is $10.05/per hour.

Swim Instructor (Part-Time)

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, provides swim lessons, private or group to all ages, levels and abilities based on American Red Cross standards and program requirements.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 15 years of age
  • Completion of American Red Cross BSI/WSI training or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Excellent writing, listening and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge and application of teaching swimming and water safety skills

Pay starts at $10.05/per hour, depending on experience.

Water Fitness Instructor (Part-Time)

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Water Fitness Instructor is responsible for conducting regularly scheduled water fitness classes. The Water Fitness Instructor will ensure the safety of participants at all times by communicating the risk of any fitness program to participants and preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. The Water Fitness Instructor will also perform other duties as necessary or required.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience leading or participating in water fitness programs for a minimum of 1 year
  • Water Fitness Instructor certification preferred but not necessary
  • Excellent writing, listening and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds

Assistant Swim Coach (Part-Time)

The Sharks Assistant Swim Coach will be responsible for assisting with running the daily operations of the Sharks swim program and will report directly to the Sharks Head Swim Coach and Aquatics Director. The position requires that the assistant coaches’ attend swim meets as requested, along with other activities and swim team functions upon the request of the Head Coach. The Sharks Assistant Coach will drive team growth and strive to retain existing swimmers while working under the guidelines of the YWCA mission statement and any other stated objectives.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma
  • American Red Cross Safety Training for Coaches and/or Lifeguard Certification, including CPR, first aid, and AED preferred
  • Ability to motivate athletes in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated proficiency in teaching stroke development, stroke correction, and proper technique
  • Excellent writing, listening, and verbal communications skills

Pay Ranges from $10.05/per hour – $11.50/per hour, depending on experience.
