YWCA Sports and Fitness

Begin or continue your health and fitness journey with boundless opportunities available through the YWCA’s Sports and Fitness facilities and programs.

  • Exercise in our 6,500 square foot Margaret Trew Cline Fitness Center. It’s been voted Best Fitness Center in the region by Celebrate Gettysburg Magazine readers and selected as the Gettysburg Times Pick of the County!
  • Take an indoor or virtual cycle class or group fitness class like Zumba, yoga, or HIIT.
  • Stow away your items in our convenient lockers.
  • Sign up for personal training sessions to guide you through custom workouts.

Our Classes

From Barre to Zumba, there’s a class for everyone at the YWCA.


Barre is a fusion of ballet, Pilates, yoga, and strength training.


Bootcamp mixes traditional calisthenics and bodyweight exercises with interval and strength training. It also includes various forms of skipping, jumping rope, and sprinting that involve bursts of high-intensity work. 

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a gentle class that enables people who cannot lie on the floor to enjoy the benefits of yoga.

Club AK

A non-stop dance fitness workout that will increase your cardio endurance! This high-energy workout incorporates easy-to-follow rhythmic moves, and some routines may include basic HIIT (high-intensity interval training). Dance off those calories in this club atmosphere to a variety of popular music!


This is a fun, energetic workout that you can do at your own pace. Get ready to dance to various types of popular music for a rewarding full body workout in a positive, uplifting environment.

Fit, Fun, and Fifty+ (FFF)

Fit, Fun, and Fifty+ is a total exercise class for seniors that focuses on cardio, toning, and flexibility.

Gentle/Beginner Yoga

Gentle yoga is performed at a slower pace with simple positions and extended time for meditation. This class is perfect for all ages.

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

HIIT is a training technique in which you give 100% effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.

Indoor Cycle/Spin

Indoor cycle classes are as exhilarating as they are challenging. Benefits of our indoor cycle classes include weight loss, improved strength, and endurance. Indoor cycling is also ideal for people who want a cardio workout without putting too much stress on their joints. To gain the full benefits, you’ll need to commit to three to six classes per week for a total of 150 minutes.

Outside Walking Class

Three miles on Tuesdays and Thursdays amid the beauty of our historic surroundings. Come walk with friends! Getting “your steps in” will quickly become secondary to the experience.  See schedules for times. 


This beginner’s introduction to Pilates includes a series of floor exercises designed to promote core fitness, flexibility, good posture, and body awareness.

Silver Sneakers Circuit

The Silver Sneakers Circuit workout offers low-impact choreography alternated with standing upper body strength work with handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball. A chair is available for support. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level and can be adapted depending on your skill level.

Silver Sneakers Classic

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to help older adults increase muscle strength and range of movement. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. This class can be adapted depending on your fitness level and abilities. It is suitable for beginning to intermediate skill levels.

Slow Stretch Yoga

This gentle yoga class is primarily on the floor, aimed toward stretching muscles and connective tissue. It is especially beneficial for runners, walkers, cyclists, and weightlifters.

Sweat and Swagger

A heart-pumping, beat-dropping, cardio-dance workout that just might bring out your inner hero! Drip with sweat; leave with swagger! Everything you want is on the other side of fear! 


Honor your body and give it an hour of stretch, strength, and relaxation. We proudly and enthusiastically offer:

Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music that creates a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness class.

Zumba Toning

Zumba Toning classes are for those who want to party, but also want to put extra emphasis on toning and sculpting to define muscles!

Locker Rentals

Locker Room

All of our locker rooms have toilet and shower facilities, changing areas, and lockers. These lockers may be used in two ways:

  • Free daily use: Rent a locker on a day-by-day basis. Your locker must be emptied when you leave the facility.
  • Yearly rental: Rent a locker for a year. Your items may be left in the locker, ready for you when you use the facility.

Annual locker rental rates:
$25 for tote locker (12”x12”x14”)
$40 for half locker (12”x35”x14”)
$75 for full lockers (12”x72”x14”)

Refunds are not given on locker rentals. Locks are not to be left on any locker unless it has been rented.
