As we look ahead to meeting the community needs there are ideas where membership input is needed for three topics: telehealth, senior lunch, 24/7 cardio room access, and childcare.

YWCA

Telehealth also known as telemedicine allows a healthcare provider to see a patient without an office visit.  If the closest Veteran Administration healthcare provider is in Lebanon or Mechanicsburg, a local telehealth office would greatly shorten the drive to the healthcare facility.  If the YWCA provided a telehealth office, a private space for a veteran to meet with their healthcare provide… would you support this as a YWCA member, would you recommend it to a veteran, or as a veteran use the service, would you serve as a volunteer to greet the veteran for pre-scheduled appointments?  Your input is needed to learn if the YWCA membership would support this concept.  Link to survey https://forms.gle/gaF5Jh1q2yx78Ty8A

In the morning and throughout the day, the YWCA is a favorite meet-up place for many senior citizens.  Make no mistake, these seniors are active in the pool, Pickleball court, cardio room, and more. There is even a “think tank” that routinely meets in the cafe to discuss current events. Additionally, the YWCA offers memberships and specific group fitness classes in partnership with the Medicare Supplemental Health Insurance programs known as Silver Sneakers.  The YWCA is exploring offering lunches for Seniors through the Office for Aging, art classes with instructors provided by the Adams County Arts Council, and social activities.  The name Senior Center doesn’t fit the image of the active seniors who frequent the YW.  If you are a senior, please let us know… what should be the name of this program?  Would you take advantage of the free lunch program and art classes?  Link to survey https://forms.gle/76iZ1Gb2HxTMgdZH7

What would make a difference in your healthy journey? 24/7 access to the cardio room?  Pay-as-you-go childcare or afterschool care at 909 so you could use the exercise facilities, take a class, or participate in an advocacy program?  Fitness classes for school-age children while you work out? Pre-order healthy, to-go food options to take with you for breakfast or dinner.   Complete this brief survey to provide input on membership needs. https://forms.gle/9psS7zEPKBSBwnpY9

Thank you for sharing your opinion about how the YW could meet the needs of our community.
