Are you someone with lots of children’s items that you think is time for them to find a new home? Or are you someone who needs children’s items but does not want to spend the full price at a store? We may be able to help. The Spring Nearly New Children’s Consignment Sale at the Gettysburg YWCA is coming up, and we would love for you to consider being a part of our sale. If you are new to the area, let me share with you a little bit more about our sale. Volunteers and Community members come together at the YWCA on Fairfield Rd two times a year to turn the gymnasium into a children’s superstore. Every sale is different and unique. In some sales, we have lots of boys’ clothing, and in the next sale, we have lots of girls’ clothing. In the past couple of sales, we have had a wide selection of toys and puzzles. So, you never know what treasures you may find when the gym door opens the morning of the sale. The proceeds from these sales go to help with the programs offered at the YWCA. If you are looking to consign or donate items, items will be accepted Sunday, March 17, from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday, March 18, from 9:00 am-7:00 pm, and Tuesday, March 19, from 9:00 am-7:00 pm. For a list of the consignment fees as well as a copy of the consignment agreement, Items that are accepted as well as items that we cannot accept. please visit the YW website at www.ywcagettysburg.org. If you have time and would be willing to volunteer, we would love to have you join us. Volunteers are needed: Sunday, March 17, from 10:00 am-4:00 pm; Monday, March 18-Wednesday March 20, from 9:00 am-7:00 pm; Thursday, March 21, from 6:00-8:00 pm; Friday, March 22, from 7:30 am-6:00 pm and Saturday, March 23 from 8:00 am-1:30 pm. Volunteers help with setting up the gym with tables/racks/shelving as well as tagging and sorting items, organizing items at the checkout lines during the sale, and then cleaning up at the end. If you volunteer 5 hours prior to Thursday, March 21, at noon, you will be able to shop the pre-sale Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm. If you have never volunteered, do not worry; we have long-time volunteers who can take you under their wings and show you the ropes. We hope you will consider being a part of this event and supporting the mission of the Gettysburg YWCA.
